BOZEMAN -- Helena Capital won its second consecutive Class AA state volleyball championship on Saturday, sweeping crosstown rival Helena High 26-24, 25-13, 25-18 at Brick Breeden Fieldhouse.
The Bruins were the dominant team all season, and they demonstrated their strength at the state tournament, losing just two sets in four matches.
Paige Bartsch had another strong performance in the championship, finishing with 13 kills, five blocks and eight digs. Dani Bartsch and Sarah Ashley each added eight kills, while Audrey Hofer dished out 26 assists. Ashley also had four aces in the win.
Liz Heuiser had 12 kills and four blocks in the loss for the Bengals.
Helena High got to the championship match with a 25-19, 25-21, 27-25 sweep of Great Falls CMR earlier Saturday. In that match, Heuiser finished with 13 kills, Abby Marcille had 12 and Sarah Fischer added 10.
Allie Olsen had 20 kills to lead CMR, which earned the third-place trophy.
