After five weeks of minimal change to the Class AA volleyball coaches' poll, there was a slight shakeup in this week's rankings. Missoula Sentinel cracked into the top five, replacing Bozeman at No. 5.

The top four teams remained the same for a sixth consecutive week, with undefeated Helena Capital, the defending Class AA state champion, holding steady at the top spot. The Bruins, who received all nine first-place votes, entered the week 18-0, including a 12-0 mark in Western AA play.

The regular season concludes on Saturday, Nov. 2, with key conference games remaining this weekend.

Helena High remained No. 2, ahead of Eastern AA champion Great Falls CMR. Billings West is third in the poll.

Sentinel's climb into the top five was immediately ruined, though, as Butte earned a straight-set sweep over the Spartans in a conference game Tuesday night. The loss drops Sentinel to 7-6 in league play with a Halloween crosstown match against Missoula Hellgate concluding the season for the Spartans.

Other key league games have CMR finishing its season at Billings Senior on Saturday, while Bozeman is at Billings West on Thursday in a game that could decide the Eastern AA's No. 2 seed.

In the Western AA, Glacier travels to Helena Capital in the season finale. The Wolfpack entered the week behind Sentinel after being swept by the Spartans, but could vault in front of them prior to next week's postseason.

The results of the Class AA volleyball coaches' poll for the week of Oct. 28 are below. The ratings are based upon five points for each first-place vote, four points for each second-place vote, etc. First-places votes as of Oct. 28 are in parentheses, followed by the total points.
