MANHATTAN — District championship volleyball took place at Manhattan Christian High School as the one-seed Lady Eagles took on the three-seed Gardiner for the 12C Championship.

Gardiner upset the two-seed Lone Peak on Friday night, but on Saturday they'd have to get past the tough task of trying to beat the one-seed Eagles.

The Eagles were rolling in the first set, up 24-14, it was the younger Van Kirk sister, Katelyn, who was set up for the spike and she got Manhattan Christian 25-14 first set win. She finished the night with 9 kills.

In the second set. Eagles were dominating Gardiner again. A nice dig by Katelyn would eventually lead to her southpaw sister Kiersten spiking one down with no regard for human life. Eagles won set two, 25-13. Kiersten finished the night with a team-high 14 kills.

Going for a sweep, Hailey Van Dyken would block the a kill attempt by the Bruins and it fell in for an Eagles point. They won the set 25-13 and are your 12C District playoff champion.
