Bozeman entered the top five in the latest edition of the Class AA volleyball coaches' poll, which was released Monday.

The Hawks are coming off an impressive week in which they swept Billings West, which was previously ranked second, to climb to No. 5 in the latest rankings. Including the win over the Golden Bears, Bozeman went 3-0 last week, also notching wins over Belgrade and Missoula Sentinel. The Hawks are now 6-4 on the season and 3-0 in the Eastern AA.

Defending state champion Helena Capital is still the top-ranked team. The 10-0 Bruins, who received all 12 first-place votes, are the lone undefeated team in the class.

Helena High (7-2), Great Falls CMR (9-1) and Billings West (9-5) round out the coaches' poll. Great Falls High, Missoula Sentinel, Billings Senior and Kalispell Flathead also received votes.

It figures to be a big weekend on the volleyball courts as the Great Falls schools travel to Bozeman and Billings West on Friday and Saturday, and Capital and Helena High meet in their crosstown tilt on Saturday.

The results of the weekly Class AA Montana volleyball coaches' poll are below. The ratings are based upon five points for each first-place vote, four points for each second-place vote, etc. First-places votes as of Sept. 23 are in parentheses, followed by the total points.
