TWIN BRIDGES — The second-seeded Ennis Mustangs looked to finish the District 12C volleyball tournament undefeated in the championship game against top-seeded Philipsburg on Friday in Twin Bridges.

For the second consecutive night the Mustangs swept the Prospectors in straight sets (25-14, 25-15, 25-12) and Friday's victory sealed their district title.

Ennis head coach Betty Klein caught up with MTN Sports afterwards to talk about her team's performance.

“Oh I’m so proud of them. They stepped up, they played hard, and they were on both days so it was a lot of fun," says Klein. “We had three games (Thursday), so we knew that was going to be tough, but they got through it, and we knew (Friday) we had a pretty good shot at finishing it in one."

MTN Sports: “How awesome was it to have the community support here?”

“We have the greatest crowd," said Klein. "The football team comes and supports us and we have great parents, so we have great crowds all the time.”

Ennis and Philipsburg move on to the Western C divisional tournament at Manhattan Christian Nov. 7-9.
