CONRAD — The Choteau Bulldogs advanced to the State B volleyball tournament for the third year in a row on Friday after defeating rival Fairfield in four sets.
Choteau dominated the first set 25-11, but Fairfield responded in the second, almost reaching a double-digit lead in the set before holding off the Bulldogs and winning 25-23.
The trend continued early in the third set, but the Bulldogs, whose only loss on the season came in the season opener to Class C Manhattan Christian, overcame another deficit to win 25-19 and take a 2-1 advantage. Choteau closed out the fourth set 25-15, ensuring it would play in Saturday's championship and sealing a spot at the State B tournament.
Fairfield will play the winner of Saturday morning's Glasgow-Shelby loser-out match for a chance at a rematch.
