BOZEMAN — The Bozeman Gallatin Raptors earned a five-set Eastern AA volleyball win on Thursday, taking down the Billings Senior Broncs 25-18, 25-16, 22-25, 15-25, 15-10.
The Raptors started out on fire early and were in control of the first set throughout. They finished the set off with a Keaton Lynn ace and won 25-18.
In the second set, the Raptors would be on a roll again. Makyah Albrecht spiked one off the defender in the back court to put Gallatin up 10 late in the set, and it would eventually win the set 25-16.
Senior didn't go down without a fight, though. Near the end of the third set on a long volley, Broncs Emma Hanson would get an amazing dig to help her team get it back over, and the Raptors’ Albrecht spiked it into the net. Senior went up 24-21 and ultimatley won the third set 25-22.
Senior would also win Set 4 to set the teams to a deciding fifth set. In the final set, Gallatin would pull away and, up 14-10, Lynn aced it to get her team the win.
Raptors junior Ryann Eddins lead the team with 22 kills.
Gallatin improves to 4-6 with the win, while Senior drops to 5-7.
