GREAT FALLS – The Havre High girls overcame a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit to take down Great Falls CMR 45-39 in overtime in one of the most thrilling games of the season.
The Blue Ponies didn’t lead for a single second of regulation, tying the game at 33 in the final seconds on a pair of Kyndall Keller free throws.
Keller led all scorers with 21 points, 16 of which came in the fourth quarter and overtime. Sadie Filius scored nine points for Havre, all coming in the second half. She forced several turnovers on defense to help the Blue Ponies rally.
CMR, which led 20-10 at halftime and 29-15 after three quarters, was led by Allie Olsen with 15 points. Lauren Lindseth added nine for the Rustlers. CMR was outscored 18-4 in the fourth quarter.
It was the final non-conference game for both teams. Havre improves to 10-1 overall, while CMR falls to 5-5.
Meanwhile in Havre, the CMR boys (3-7) pulled out a 49-47 win over the Blue Pony boys (8-5).
