BILLINGS — Maddie Albrecht hit a half-court buzzer beater at the end of the first half Friday as Billings West extended its Eastern AA girls basketball lead with a 50-41 win over crosstown rival Billings Skyview.
Both teams started slowly, with West taking just an 8-3 lead after the first quarter, but the Bears ballooned the advantage to 20-6 midway through the second. Albrecht's heroics gave West a 29-14 lead at the half. Skyview never really threatened, only getting the lead down to single digits in the final seconds.
The win moves West to 11-3 overall, 8-0 atop the Eastern AA. Skyview falls to 5-9, 3-5.
