BILLINGS — Allie Olsen scored 24 points as the Great Falls CMR Rustlers took the lead for good in the third quarter in a 43-36 win over Bozeman in an Eastern AA girls basketball semifinal Friday night at Alterowitz Gym.
The teams traded leads throughout most of the first half until Olsen hit back-to-back baskets and added several free throws to give CMR a 25-19 lead at halftime.
Bozeman opened the third quarter on a 7-0 run to grab the lead right back, 26-25. So CMR did what it does best: pound the ball inside to its 6-foot-3 senior.
Olsen again made consecutive baskets and sealed the win in the fourth with more free throws.
She finished 8 of 14 from the field and 8 of 13 from the free throw line. Her teammates combined to shoot just 6 of 20 from the field.
Addi Ekstrom led the Hawks with 13 points, while Macy Meyer added 10 and nine rebounds.
