BOZEMAN — The Bozeman Hawks girls basketball team took on the Belgrade Panthers Thursday night with a trip to the Class AA state tournament on the line. Bozeman came into the game 11-3 and the Panthers were 1-13, but Belgrade gave Bozeman all it could handle.
Belgrade at one point was up 8-5 over Bozeman in the first quarter, but the Hawks went on a 5-0 run to take the lead a short while later. They maintained an almost double-digit lead throughout the second half, but the Panthers cut their to deficit to as little as four, but Bozeman would hold them off and win 43-32.
Bozeman junior Nicole D'Agostino finished with a game-high 10 points.
Olivia Wegner, McKenna Morris and Naomi Reanier all finished with a team-high seven points for Belgrade.
