BOZEMAN — It was a night for high school girls basketball in Bozeman, as both the Bozeman Hawks and the Gallatin Raptors hosted Billings teams in their season openers.
For the Raptors, they were playing their first game in school history as they went up against Billings Skyview.
Gallatin sophomore Averi Smith scored the first points in school history. She led the team with 10 points on the night.
However, it was the Brooke Berry show, as the junior scored a team-high 29 points for Billings Skyview as the Falcons spoiled the Raptors' debut, winning 69-35.
Over at Bozeman High, the Hawks took on Billings West.
The Golden Bears jumped out to 30-14 lead at halftime and never looked back.
Freshman Kourtney Grossman stole the show, as she led West with a team-high 19 points.
Hawks senior forward Macy Mayer led the team with 11 points, but it wasn't enough as the Golden Bears defeated Bozeman 66-32.
