Western C: Unbeaten Charlo girls, Twin Bridges boys fall

FRENCHTOWN -- The Western C boys and girls basketball divisional championship games are set. The Seeley-Swan and West Yellowstone girls got semifinal wins on Friday, while Gardiner and Manhattan Christian won semifinal games on the boys side.

Seeley-Swan girls 45, Charlo 40

In a back-and-forth game, Seely-Swan earned a 45-40 win over Charlo.

The Blackhawks started the game on a 9-0 run but then allowed the Vikings to go on a 14-0 run of their own. However, Seeley-Swan made the buckets in crunch time when it mattered most.

Klaire Kovatch lead Seeley-Swan with 12 points.

Seeley-Swan will take on West Yellowstone at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the Western C championship game.

West Yellowstone girls 61, Alberton-Superior 27

The Wolverines continued to stay hot from the District 11C tournament, now to the divisional in Frenchtown, where they blew out Alberton-Superior 61-27 in the semifinals.

Avery Parker and Danna Ochoa led the way for West Yellowtone with 15 points each.

The Wolverines will meet Seeley-Swan in the Western C championship at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

Gardiner boys 57, Harrison-Willow Creek 40

Gardiner dominated the Wildcats by the score of 57-40.

Elijah Byrd had a game-high 21 points for the Bruins.

The Bruins take on Manhattan Christian at 8:30 p.m. Saturday for the Western C championship.

Manhattan Christian boys 60, Twin Bridges 53

The Eagles came away victorious on a game that was competitive until the end, winning by the score of 60-53.

Sam Leep had a game-high 21 points for Manhattan Christian and Charlie Kruer had 14 for Twin Bridges.

The reigning state champion Eagles will meet District 11C rival Gardiner in the Western C divisional championship.
