GREAT FALLS — The 2019-20 high school boys basketball season got off to a thrilling start as Rocky Boy beat Box Elder 91-90 in the opening game of the Native American Basketball Classic in Great Falls.

The Stars built a 44-24 halftime lead, but Box Elder locked in on defense in the third quarter, holding Rocky Boy to 10 points in the quarter. Box Elder took just its second lead of the game late in the fourth with a Kadyn Duran layup, but the Bears fouled Rocky Boy's Blake Cantrell on a 3-point attempt with two seconds left. Cantrell converted all three free throws, sending the game to overtime.

In overtime it was Rocky Boy who had a lead in the final seconds, but a last-second putback by Tyrus LaMere tied the game once again at 81, sending the game into a second overtime.

In the second overtime, Kellen Colliflower converted a layup as time expired, sealing the win for the Stars.
