The Park City boys basketball team shook off a slow start to take down Broadview-Lavina on the road on Saturday, 49-38, and maintain hold of third place in District 6C.

Park City led 10-7 after the first quarter, but Broadview-Lavina ripped off a 10-0 run to open the second quarter and take a 17-10 lead. The Panthers, though, would close on an 8-0 run punctuated by a Tucker Johnstone 3-pointer just before the halftime horn.

Park City really began to distance itself in the second half, as Broadview-Lavina turnovers began to mount in the third quarter. Although the Pirates cut the deficit to as little as five, 30-25, they ran out of gas in the fourth quarter as the Panthers pulled away.

Park City beat Broadview-Lavina 44-29 back on Jan. 9 and earns a season sweep of the Pirates. Johnstone had a game-high 24 points to lead Park City. Broadview-Lavina was led by sophomore Kade Erickson's 21 points.

The girls games between the Panthers and Pirates were canceled, as the Park City bus was unable to get to Lavina after I-90 was closed due to accidents.

Broadview-Lavina will visit Fromberg next Friday. Park City is in action on Tuesday at Roberts.
