FRENCHTOWN — After a long arduous three days of basketball, we have the winners for the Western C divisional basketball tournaments.
For the girls, Seeley-Swan scraped by in a hard-fought matchup against West Yellowstone to win in overtime 39-37.
With six seconds left the Wolverines had a shot to win it. They got the ball in the hands of their star Rebekah Everest, who drove the length of the court, got a shot off right in front of free throw line and it clanked off the rim.
Seeley-Swan is the Western C girls champion, moving on to the State C tournament, while West Yellowstone will play against Manhattan Christian in a challenge game on Monday in Ennis.
For the boys, Manhattan Christian played a familiar foe in District 11C rival Gardiner. MHCS dominated the Bruins from the beginning, winning 72-55.
The Eagles head to the state tournament and Gardiner has to face Twin Bridges in a challenge game in Belgrade on Monday night.
