Manhattan boys, Whitehall girls advance to District 5B championship

The 2021 District 5B basketball tournament wrapped up semifinal games Thursday night.

Whitehall 54, Jefferson 45

WHITEHALL -- The District 5B girls basketball semifinals tipped off in Whitehall Thursday evening, featuring the Trojans and Jefferson Panthers.

It was a close, contested battle through three-and-a-half quarters of play, but Whitehall's Bryanna Wolfe went 7 for 7 on the free throw line in the fourth to help the Trojans advance to Saturday's championship game with a 54-45 win.

Whitehall held onto a one-point lead to start off the fourth quarter, 36-35, and outscored the Panthers 18-10 to win by nine, 54-45.

Wolfe led the way with 19 points, followed by Jada Clarkson with 15.

Jefferson had two players finish in double digits: Rachel Van Blaricom (16 points) and Dakota Edmisten (12).

The Trojans will Travel to Big Timber Saturday for the District 5B championship.

Manhattan 59, Three Forks 35

MANHATTAN -- The top-seeded Manhattan Tigers made quick work of Three Forks Thursday night in the District 5B boys basketball semifinals, cruising by 59-35.

Manhattan's Tate Bowler led the way with 18 points, which included a pair of 3-pointers. Corban Johnson followed with 10.

Three Fork's top two scorers, Austin Allen and Owen Long, both finished with eight points.

The Tigers will host Townsend on Saturday for the District 5B championship.
