HELENA -- With a chance to move to 4-4 in the Western AA conference the Helena High boys seized the chance by beating the Butte Bulldogs 66-59 in overtime. Though the Bengals nabbed the win, their position in the standings will not improve, as they currently sit one-half game behind the Kalispell Glacier Wolfpack, who are currently 4-3 on the season. The Helena High Girls were also presented with a similar opportunity but struggled on the road falling to the Bulldogs, 51-46.
The Helena High basketball program doesn't have much time to catch their breath as the boys will head on the road to Missoula to take on the top-ranked Hellgate Knights, while the girls will welcome in the second ranked Hellgate girls team on Feb. 6 at 7:15 p.m. The Bulldogs face a similar task, the Butte boys will welcome in the second ranked Helena Capital Bruins on Feb. 6 at 7 p.m., and the girls will face an undefeated Bruins girls team in Helena at 7:15 p.m.
