HARLEM -- Make room in the Montana record books.

Harlem's Brad Cichosz poured in 68 points in the Wildcats' 101-53 boys basketball win over Poplar on Saturday, setting a new single-game scoring record, according to the Montana High School Association record books. The previous high was 65 points, which Reed Point's Shane Lorash and Pine Hills' Wally Doney each scored during the 1988 season.

Cichosz made 12 3-pointers during his special night, scoring 44 first-half points -- 23 in the first quarter and 21 in the second. He added 22 points in the third quarter and two in the fourth.

According to the MHSA record books, Cichosz's 12 3s would tie for third-most in a single game in Montana history. Manhattan Christian's Sam Leep made 14 in a game this season, and Matt Luedtke made 12 in a game for Ronan in 2002. Luedtke is now the head coach at Butte High.
