BILLINGS --- Making a second road trip to Billings within 48 hours clearly didn't bother boys basketball players at Great Falls High.

The Bison opened on a 15-2 run Thursday night at Skyview on the way to a 58-40 win and clinching a top seed in the Eastern AA divisional playoffs next week. Great Falls also defeated Billings Senior by 10 Tuesday in a make-up game.

The Bison hit five 3-pointers in the first quarter Thursday -- three from Levi Torgerson -- to open a 21-12 lead. Drew Wyman scored 11 points in the third, expanding Great Falls' lead to 48-34.

"Levi hit some big 3s for us, that got us the momentum going," Wyman told MTN Sports. "Then, we just used that moment to keep going hard and that's what helped us this game."

After the opening quarter Skyview never drew to within single digits on a tough shooting night.

"They came in pretty focused and we had some lapses defensively Tuesday, but they cleaned it up. That was kind of the difference in the game," Bison head coach Bob Howard said afterward. "Skyview had a tough time shooting but we gave them one shot, tried to stay between them and the basket and I thought we did a great job."
