WORDEN — Josh Keo hit a 15-foot jumper with one second left Saturday to help lift Plenty Coups to the District 6C boys basketball championship, after Bridger overcame an 18-point deficit in the second half.
The Scouts trailed 55-37 early in the fourth before going on a 21-0 run to take a 58-55 lead with less than 2:00 to play. Bridger led 61-59 with less than 45 seconds to play, when Brendan Falls Down got a steal and lay-up to tie the game and then stole the ball again to pave the way for Keo's heroics.
Plenty Coups controlled the game through three quarters. The Warriors led 37-26 at halftime and 53-37 at the end of three after Keo hit another buzzer beater. Bridger, though, erased the deficit in less than six minutes before the wild finish.
The Warriors will be the 6C's No. 1 seed at the Southern C tournament in Miles City, set for Mach. 4-7. Bridger will be No. 2. Reed Point-Rapelje will be No. 3 after beating Absarokee in the consolation game earlier Saturday, while the Huskies will advance as No. 4.
