There was more playoff action from Bozeman High School on Friday, as the Hawks boys basketball team took on Great Falls CMR, a team Bozeman had already beaten twice this season. The Hawks narrowly edged out the Rustlers 54-51 the last time these two faced off and a ticket to the State AA tournament was on the line this time.
CMR scored the first bucket of the game, but it was all Bozeman after back-to-back 3-pointers by Hawks seniors Brady and Padraig Lang gave them a 6-2 lead. They took a 28-21 lead into halftime and in the second half the Hawks cruised to a 54-39 victory.
Bozeman is heading to the state tournament and CMR's season comes to a close.
Bozeman junior Ty Huse finished with a game-high 18 points, almost four points more than his 14.2 average on the season. He was the only Hawk in double figures.
Raef Newbrough had a team-high 13 points for CMR.
