BOZEMAN — Both Class AA high school boys basketball teams in Bozeman were action on Saturday. The Bozeman Gallatin Raptors took on Billings West in their first home game in school history and the Bozeman Hawks took on Billings Skyview.
The Raptors started off hot against the Golden Bears, jumping out to a 14-13 first-quarter lead.
However, West would not be outmatched by the young squad and eventually pulled away, winning 68-45.
Eli Hunter had a team-high 21 points for Gallatin. The Golden Bears' Teagan Mullowney led the team with 20 points.
Over at Bozeman High, the Hawks took on the Falcons in a back-and-forth matchup.
At one point in the fourth quarter Bozeman was up 48-39, but Skyview came roaring back to tie the game at 50 on a layup by senior Ky Kouba.
The Hawks pulled away after that, though, going on a 8-0 run capped off by back-to-back buckets from senior Padraig Lang. Those were his only four points of the night.
Bozeman ended up winning 66-56, and junior Ty Huse had a game-high 25 points.
Falcons senior guard Camron Ketchum lead his team with 21 points.
