BILLINGS - The Skyview Falcons have plenty of guards, which means they have plenty of opportunity to run and gun. They took full advantage Tuesday night in a 71-43 crosstown win over Billings Senior.
Tied 7-7 early on, Skyview ran off an 11-0 run to close the first quarter and extended it to a 13-0 run into the second before Senior answered with a Junior Bergan free throw. The damage was done though as Skyview's onslaught ballooned to a 34-12 halftime lead at home capped by a lob from Payton Sanders to Ky Kouba just before the buzzer.
The Falcons led 56-23 after three quarters.
"Two crosstown games in a row, to come out and execute a game plan like that, and at that level of intensity for pretty much four quarters, very impressed with them," Skyview head coach Kevin Morales told MTN Sports. "Very pleased."
The Falcons earned a blowout win at Billings West on Friday and picked up where they left off.
"The game really opened up," Falcons guard Payton Sanders told MTN Sports. "My teammates really helped me out spreading the floor. I felt we played together as a whole"
Skyview plays at Belgrade Thursday night at 7 p.m. while Senior hosts West in the same time slot.
