ANACONDA — Saturday night marked the first home games on a brand-new court for the Anaconda boys and girls basketball teams -- a little extra motivation as they squared off against one of Class B's newest members in Arlee.
The boys game tipped off first and first-year Warrior head coach Zachary Conko Camel had his team battling late in the fourth quarter. But a barrage of big shots and Arlee turnovers ultimately secured head coach Rochie Estes and his Copperhead squad the 78-72 win over Arlee.
The girls hit the floor next, and Anaconda capitalized off of Scarlet turnovers early, building a double-digit lead after the first quarter. From there Arlee never seemed to be able to climb back, falling to Anaconda 62-24.
