BROWNING — Steve Keller’s Providence Argos keep building depth.

On Monday, Browning senior Tyree Whitcomb signed to play basketball with the Argos next season.

Whitcomb played a crucial part of the Indians’ attack this past season as Browning made it to the State A tournament before losing to Hardin in the first round. Whitcomb also made it to the state tournament with the Indians his junior season in 2018.

A 6-foot-7 forward, Whitcomb averaged a double-double this past season, notching 17 points and 11 rebounds per game. He led the Northwestern A in assists, rebounds and steals and ranked third in the division in total scoring and blocked shots. Whitcomb was named the Northwestern A’s co-MVP and earned first-team all-conference and Class A all-state recognition.

“We are very excited to welcome Tyree to the Argo basketball team. He has great size and even more impressive guard skills. He can shoot the 3 as well as get to the rim,” Keller said in a media release. “Tyree was a vital part of a Browning team that went 23-4 this past season. We look forward to watching him develop into a very good player in the Frontier Conference.”

Chinook’s Isaac Bell is set to sign with Keller’s Providence team later this week.
