Zebadiah Boos leads University of Providence track team in Bozeman

BOZEMAN — The University of Providence Argos opened the indoor track and field season on Friday as they competed in the Montana State University Open.

On the men’s side, Zebadiah Boos competed in the men’s weight throw, in addition to the men’s shot put. In the weight throw, Boos threw for 13.29 meters (43 feet, 7 inches) to place seventh. In the shot put, Boos claimed a distance of 12.49 meters (40 feet, 11 inches), finishing 11th.

On the women’s side, Jillian Sanchez, Kristen Nash and Kaylee Beer competed in the weight throw and shot put, as well. Sanchez paced the Argos in the weight throw with a distance of 13.25 meters (43 feet, 5 inches), claiming 10th place. Nash was the Argos’ second finisher as she claimed a 14th-place finish with a distance of 11.12 meters (36 feet, 5 inches), while Beer finished right behind her in 15th with a 10.90-meter (35 feet, 9 inches) throw. Sanchez also led the Argos in the shot put with a throw of 10.76 meters (35-3), while Beer and Nash claimed a 13th- and 14th-place finish with distances of 9.34 (30-7) and 9.23 meters (30-3), respectively.

The Argos will head to the Evergreen State as they compete in the Washington State University Indoor Open in Pullman, Wash. on Jan. 18.
