GREAT FALLS – The No. 24-ranked University of Providence Argos defeated No. 23 Montana Tech in four sets Friday night in a battle of ranked teams. After dropping the first set 25-17, the Argos won the next three 25-17, 25-20, 25-12.
Reigning Frontier Conference attacker of the week Kelsey Shaver led the Argos with 22 kills. Paige Jensen led her team with 25 assists.
Providence improves to 13-6 overall and moves into solo second place in the Frontier Conference with a 5-2 mark in league play. The Argos head to Sioux Falls, Iowa next week for a non-conference tournament.
Montana Tech falls to 12-9 overall with a 4-3 Frontier mark.
