NEW ORLEANS — Rocky Mountain College offensive lineman Troy Bacon became the latest Battlin’ Bear to receive an NFL rookie minicamp invite Sunday, joining former teammate Darneail Jenkins.

Bacon will head to New Orleans for the Saints’ minicamp, while Jenkins will head to Philadelphia with the Eagles.

Bacon was a 2018 honorable mention all-American and first-team all-Frontier Conference selection as Rocky’s center this past season. The senior from Oak Hills, Calif., was a key component for the 2018 Frontier Conference champions’ offensive line.

“Troy is a very intelligent player with a great understanding of offensive line play,” said Rocky head coach Chris Stutzriem. “He has been a great player, leader, and person here at Rocky.”

Both players look to join the ranks of Rocky Mountain College alum Chris Horn who found a career in the NFL. Horn played three seasons for the Kansas City Chiefs from 2003-05.
