KANSAS CITY – The NAIA announced this week that Rocky Mountain College’s Craig Wilmore has been selected to participate in the 2019 NABC-NAIA Shoot & Slam contest.

The annual event features the NAIA’s top dunkers and will take place during quarterfinals of the 82nd Annual Division 1 Men’s Basketball National Championship.

The senior from Daytona Beach was one of three basketball players chosen by committee. He will compete against Taylor Boley of Judson University and Patrick Burnett of York College. The fourth and final dunker will be chosen via fan vote.

Scoring will be decided by a panel of judges who evaluate dunks on a scale of 8-10. Each player gets two dunks per round and must complete at lead one inside of two minutes. The top two compete against each other in a final round.

Wilmore had previously been recognized for his dunking ability with a spot in the Dark Horse Dunker contest. He competed against Montana State’s Keljin Blevins in the first round of the online bracket-style competition.

The 2019 NABC-NAIA Shoot & Slam contest will begin at 4 p.m. on March 23 at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo.
