Four Rocky Mountain College track and field athletes take Frontier Conference awards

WHITEFISH – Four of Rocky Mountain College’s track and field athletes earned Frontier Conference athlete of the week honors for their performances at the 2019 Stinger Open in Spearfish, S.D.

Selina Angel earned the women’s indoor track athlete of the week honor. The freshman from Roundup broke her own school record in the 60 meters with a time of 9.75 seconds. She also helped the Battlin’ Bears finish second with a time of 4 minutes, 27.43 seconds in the women’s 4×400 relay.

Sabrina Wolcott earned the women’s indoor field athlete of the week honor. The freshman from Laurel finished fourth in the women’s triple jump with a distance of 9.97 meters (32 feet, 8.5 inches). She finished fourth in the long jump, as well.

John Bass earned the men’s indoor track athlete of the week honor. The sophomore from Kearns, Utah finished second in the men’s 60 meters with a personal-best time of 7.24. He finished fifth in the men’s 200-meter run with a time of 23.81.

Michael Lee earned the men’s indoor field athlete of the week honor. The freshman from Kalispell finished third in the men’s shot put with a distance of 14.57 meters (47 feet, 9.75 inches). He finished fifth in the weight throw.
