Rocky Mountain College sets three school records at Dakota Wesleyan Open

MITCHELL, S.D. – Three separate school records were broken Saturday by Rocky Mountain College’s indoor track and field teams at the Dakota Wesleyan University Open.

Placing in third, Brenden Leaming broke his own school record in the 60m with a time of 7.07. The senior had set the previous record of 7.14 at the Montana State University Open earlier in the season.

Selina Angel broke her own pole vaulting record of 3.05m/10’0″ with a new height of 3.09m/10’1.5″. The freshman placed in first ahead of two other pole vaulters.

The women’s 4 x 400 relay team broke Rocky Mountain College’s previous relay record of 4:25.41 with a time of 4:22.91. The team finished in seventh in the event.

Elsewhere, the men’s 4 x 800 relay team finished in first ahead of Jamestown with a time of 8:06.36.

Courtney Hallock’s time of 19:03.85 in the 5000m placed her in first.

George Beddow finished in third among a field of 18 runners in the men’s mile with a time of 4:35.63. In the women’s mile, Mei-Li Stevens finished in third among nine runners with a time of 5:36.67.

The men’s 4 x 400 relay team finished in fourth among 17 teams with a time of 3:29.21.
