RED LODGE – Both of the Rocky Mountain College ski teams took first place in the second day of the USCSA Grand Teton Rocky Mountain College Meet.
The Battlin’ Bears finished ahead of University of Utah and Montana State University.
In the men’s Giant Slalom, the Battlin’ Bears took three of the top four finishes. Rocky’s Sean McCormick finished with a 1st place ranking. With an initial run of 39.67, McCormick’s second run of 40.71 pushed him to a first place finish with a combined time of 1:20.38.
Andraz Reich-Pogladic finished right behind his teammate with a total time of 1:21.34. He finished his first run with a time of 40.33 and his second run in 41.01. Oscar Dalmalm finished in fourth with runs of 41.49 and 40.80.
In the women’s Giant Slalom, Rocky’s Emeline LaFarge led the Battlin’ Bears with a second place finish. LaFarge’s total time of 1:23.78 was due to runs of 41.12 and 42.66.
Hannah Clancy finished in 12 with a total time of 1:25.58. Carina Bracy finished in 14th place with a combined time of 1:26.21.
The Stano Cup will continue Sunday at Red Lodge Mountain in Red Lodge, Mont.
