Rocky Mountain College men can’t keep up with Top 10 Lewis-Clark State

LEWISTON, Idaho – The Rocky Mountain College Battlin’ Bears were defeated 84-72 by the No. 10 ranked Lewis-Clark State Warriors Saturday evening.

Rocky kept pace initially with Lewis-Clark. It was midway through the first period that the Warriors shot ahead with a 12 point run and the Battlin’ Bears trailed the rest of the game.

Rocky shot 47.5 percent from the floor, 30.4 percent from beyond on the arc, and 60 percent on the free-throw line.

Shooting 8-12 from the field, Brandon The Boy led the Battlin’ Bears with 19 points and four assists. Craig Wilmore posted 17 points and six rebounds.

Jared Samuelson scored 12 points with seven rebounds while Clayton Ladine contributed an additional 11.

The Warriors out-rebounded the Battlin’ Bears 33-27. Rocky held an 8-7 advantage in steals and a 6-2 advantage in blocks.

Lewis-Clark was led by Cory Dollarhide who scored 14 points with three rebounds.

Rocky will return home to face the Carroll College Fighting Saints on Jan. 17. The action will tip off at 7:30 p.m. as part of Rocky’s Military Appreciation Event.
