KANSAS CITY, Mo., December 14, 2018 – Rocky’s Billy Williams, Koby Ruff, Shane Larson, Zane Guse, Chase Bertelsen, and Max Gray were all named 2018 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

The six football players were among 392 student-athletes selected by the NAIA for excellence in the classroom.

To be nominated for such an honor, a player must have at least a junior academic status with a minimum of a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

This is the second year in a row that Williams, Ruff, Guse, and Bertelsen received the honor. The Battlin’ Bears recently saw 13 players named NAIA scholar athletes, while three were tabbed all-American.
