KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Rocky Mountain College leads three Frontier Conference teams ranked in the NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Preseason Poll, which was released Tuesday.
Rocky, which topped the Frontier Conference coaches poll after going 18-14 last season, is ranked No. 14 in the NAIA top 25. The Battlin’ Bears are followed by Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) at No. 17. Rocky and LC-State each received three first-place votes from Frontier Conference coaches in the league poll.
Carroll College received the other first-place vote in the Frontier rankings, and the Saints, under first-year coach Kurt Paulson, are 22nd in the NAIA top 25.
Providence, which hired Steve Keller to lead its program during the offseason, is among the other teams to receive votes.
The Master’s (Calif.) narrowly edged William Penn (Iowa) and LSU Alexandria (La.) for the No. 1 ranking. William Penn and LSU Alexandria tied for second, while Georgetown (Ky.) and Oklahoma City completed the top five.
