Rocky Mountain College, Montana Western climb in latest NAIA football rankings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Rocky Mountain College and Montana Western each climbed two spots in the latest NAIA football poll after the Battlin’ Bears and Bulldogs earned wins over the weekend.

Rocky throttled Carroll College 42-21 in Helena on Saturday, improving to 6-2 on the season. Coaches across the country moved the Bears from No. 15 to No. 13 in this week’s top 25 poll. They lead four Frontier Conference teams in the rankings.

Western, which sits in first place in the Frontier at 6-1, scored 42 straight points to defeat MSU-Northern 42-13 in Havre. The win moved the Bulldogs from 18th to No. 16 in the weekly poll. Western travels to Rocky Mountain College on Saturday.

Eastern Oregon (5-2) jumped one spot from No. 19 to 18th after downing Montana Tech, while Southern Oregon, the preseason conference favorite, dropped its third consecutive game and fell from No. 14 to 23rd. The Raiders are 4-3 overall.
