Rocky Mountain College golf teams load up on conference awards

WHITEFISH – The men’s and women’s golf teams at Rocky Mountain College had 11 players named to the Frontier Conference All-Conference teams on Wednesday.

Colton Murphy, Reece Nilsen, and Michael Tait received first team honors for men’s golf in the Frontier Conference. HoTae Kim and Mitchell Thiessen received second team honors.

Eryn Ellis, Hayden Flohr, and Morgan O’Neil earned first team women’s honors. Amanda Conner, Anna DeMars, and Kaelyn Volk recieved second team.

Kim, Nilsen, Flohr, and Ellis all received individual medalists honors at a Frontier Conference tournament this season.

Ellis also earned Women’s Player of the Year honors. The senior from Casper, Wyo., won the Argo and Battlin’ Bears Invitationals earning Frontier Conference’s Women’s Golfer of the Week honor twice as a result.

RMC head coach Aaron Pohle was named Frontier Conference Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach of the Year. Both teams are the regular season champions after sweeping the three Frontier Conference tournaments this year.

This is the fourth straight season Pohle has earned Women’s Golf Coach of the Year honors in the Frontier.
