DES MOINES, Iowa – The No. 7-ranked Rocky Mountain College volleyball team (20-1, 6-0 FC) added two more sweeps to their season after conquering Cardinal Stritch and Olivet Nazarene at the 2018 Grand View Tournament.

The Battlin’ Bears have now won 19 games in a row. The last six matches have been sweeps.

The Battlin’ Bear swept Cardinal Stritch University first. The Wolves had trouble keeping up with Rocky’s offensive pressure and couldn’t get in range of a winning set. Rocky took the first set 25-11 and used that momentum to grab a hold of the next two sets 25-17 and 25-16.

Hailey Copinga knocked down 11 kills while leading the team with 16 digs. Olivia L’Ami led the team in kills with 15.

Natalie Hilderman orchestrated 34 assists with 12 digs of her own. Ruby Kallenbach contributed 12 digs herself.

Rocky played the second match of the day against Olivet Nazerene in the evening. The Tigers were unable to keep pace with the Battlin’ Bears as well. Rocky took the first two sets 25-19 and 25-20, before sealing the deal with a 25-21 set win. This marks the second sweep of Tigers this season for the Battlin’ Bears.

L’Ami once again led the team in kills with 12. She contributed an additional seven digs. Copinga continued to operate on both sides of the net as she brought in seven kills with 16 digs.

Kallenbach led the team in digs against the Tigers with 19. Hilderman contributed 27 assists.

Tomorrow Rocky will have the opportunity to prove themselves against tough nationally ranked opponents as they continue to take part in the 2018 Grand View Tournament. The Battlin’ Bears will face No. 4 ranked Viterbo at 11:00 a.m. Afterwards, Rocky will face off against No. 2 ranked Grand View at 3:00 p.m.
