KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Rocky Mountain College and Montana Western both climbed up the NAIA Football Coaches’ Top 25 Poll on Monday after winning top-25 matchups over the weekend.

The Battlin’ Bears notched a dominant 34-21 win over then-No. 2 Southern Oregon on Saturday to make the largest leap of any team in the poll. Rocky (4-2) moved up five places to this week’s No. 16 ranking. SOU, meanwhile, slipped from second to seventh in the latest poll.

Western improved to 4-1 with a come-from-behind win over Montana Tech. The Bulldogs climbed to No. 19 after sitting in 22nd in last week’s poll. Montana Tech, which is now 3-2, slipped five places from 20th last week to No. 25 this week.

Southern Oregon (4-1) is still the highest-ranked Frontier Conference team in the poll. At seventh, the Raiders sit behind Morningside (Iowa), Marian (Ind.), Northwestern (Iowa), Reinhardt (Ga.), Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) and Evangel (Mo.). Morningside, which is 6-0, earned 15 first-place votes, while Marian (5-0) took the other first-place vote.

Eastern Oregon, which handled Montana State-Northern last week, is also ranked this week. The Mountaineers debuted at No. 24.
