Isaac Petsch leads No. 22 Rocky Mountain College to Providence Open win

GREAT FALLS – The Rocky Mountain College men’s cross country team secured a first place finish at the Providence Open in Great Falls, Mont.

Ranked No. 22 in the nation, the men’s cross country team has now secured their second victory of the year in as many races. Running on the Hickory Swing Golf Course, Rocky defeated second place Carroll by a single point.

Issac Petsch finished in first with a personal best time of 26:11. Petsch’s time is the tenth best finish in Rocky Mountain College cross country history.

Teammate Jackson Duffey finished in second with a time of 26:23.

The Battlin’ Bears women’s cross country team finished in third behind Dickinson State and Montana Western.

Corrine Hamilton led the Battlin’ Bears with a third place finish on a personal best time of 19:09. Sydney Little Light finished in sixth with a personal best time of 20:03. Mei-Li Stevens ran to a tenth place finish with a time of 20:22.

Rocky will next run in the Montana Open on the UM Golf Course in Missoula, Mont. on Sept. 28.
