BILLINGS – Rocky Mountain College edged out crosstown rival MSU Billings in a five-set showdown.
The Battlin’ Bears lost a tight first set 24-26, but responded with a 25-22 win immediately following. The Yellowjackets took the third set 25-21. From there it was Rocky as the Battlin’ Bears downed the fourth and fifth sets 25-19 and 15-9.
Rocky extended it’s record to 14-1 this season with a win streak of 13.
The Bears were led by Olivia L’Ami who orchestrated 15 kills. Hailey Copinga knocked down another 12. Daniella Russell added 10 kills.
Natalie Hilderman’s night was highlighted by 33 assists and 21 digs. Ruby Kallenbach added 25 digs.
No. 6 Rocky travels to Butte Saturday for a showdown at No. 20 Montana Tech. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
