KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced on Friday that four teams from Rocky Mountain College – men’s soccer, women’s golf, women’s soccer, and volleyball – have received a Scholar-Team award for the 2017-18 academic year.

This is the fourth straight year the Battlin’ Bears volleyball team has earned. Women’s golf made the list this year for the second straight year. This is the second Scholar-Team distinction for both men’s and women’s soccer after each earned the honor in 2015.

A total of 1,862 teams across the NAIA were named to the list for 2017-18. St. Ambrose (Iowa) led the pack with 23 teams represented on the list. The Missouri Baptist University’s women’s tennis team took the lead this year with a 3.90 team GPA.

For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar-Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0-grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.
