2019-20 MONTANA WESTERN WOMEN’S BASKETBALL SCHEDULE

The defending national champions will spend the majority of the non-conference season on the road, which is all right with NAIA coach of the year Lindsay Woolley, as his team finished an impressive 19-1 away from the friendly confines of Straugh Gymnasium a season ago.

The Bulldogs won 11 of 14 games in Dillon. UMW will host 11 contests this season starting Nov. 1 against Yellowstone Christian College.

The Bulldogs will partake in five tournaments starting in late October at the Montana Tech Tip-Off Classic in Butte, meeting College of Idaho and Salish Kootenai College.

The Bulldogs play Eastern and Southern Oregon in the Twin Rivers PT Classic in Lewiston, Idaho. They will stay in the Gem State and meet William Jessop (Calif.) and host College of Idaho at the College of Idaho Shoot-Out in Caldwell, Idaho.

UMW will spend the Thanksgiving weekend in Grand Junction, Colo. meeting NCAA Division II opponents Western Colorado and host Colorado Mesa. The Bulldogs will close the non-conference schedule with a trip to the desert playing in the Cactus Classic in Chandler, Ariz. Those opponents are yet to be determined.

The defending Frontier Conference champions are scheduled for 18 conference games and will face some stiff competition in one of the NAIA’s most competitive leagues. A year ago, 12 of UMW’s league games were against top-25-ranked teams.

League play begins Dec. 5 on the Hi-Line at MSU-Northern.
