DILLON — The University of Montana Western head men’s basketball coach Mike Larsen has announced the signing of junior college standout Max Clark to a NAIA Letter of Intent.

Clark, a 6-3 point guard from Lawrenceville, Ga., comes to the Bulldogs after spending the past two seasons at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville, Ala. Clark started all but five games during his time with Lions.

This last season he had the second-best assist to turnover ratio of all national junior college players at 5.9 to 1. He finished the 2018-19 season with 148 assists to 25 turnovers, shot 34.8 percent from the floor and pulled down 3.6 rebounds a game.

“We are extremely excited about Max committing to our program,” Larsen said. “He comes from a winning program that has amazing values. Max himself boasts an impressive 3.7 GPA and a 5.9 assist to turnover ratio. Max will bring an exciting brand of basketball to Dillon and we can’t wait for him to arrive in August.”

Clark is a 2017 graduate of Collins Hill High School and is the son of Laura Nero. The Dean’s List student plans on majoring in health and human performance at Montana Western.
