BILLINGS – In just over an hour, the Montana Western women’s basketball team will tip off in the program’s first ever national championship appearance. But you would never guess that it was, because this squad has been preparing for this opportunity all season long

“There’s a reason we don’t really practice much the last two weeks of the year. We’ve probably practiced four times like an actual real practice the last two or three weeks. Part of it is when you get here and (the players) are worn out, you don’t have a chance,” said Montana Western head coach Lindsay Woolley. “And I think our kids are in pretty good shape, we are deep enough that we can sub and be OK. They’re focused and ready, there’s going to be adrenaline (Tuesday) night, I think they are going to be fine. We are really looking forward to it.”

“I think we are just really determined. This was our goal to get to the championship, and we’re here, so our next step is to win it,” said semifinal hero Bri King.
