WHITEFISH — For the fourth time in as many weeks, Brianna King has been named Frontier Conference women’s basketball player of the week. The league announced the news on Monday.
A 5-foot-5 guard from Spokane, Wash., King paced the No. 4 Bulldogs to a 2-0 record at home last week. Western defeated No. 22 Rocky Mountain College 73-63 on Thursday, with King pouring in 29 points to go with six rebounds, four assists, two blocks and two steals. She made 11 of 17 field goals in the win, scoring her 1,000th career point in just her 50th career game at Western.
Saturday, King helped the Bulldogs edge No. 8 Carroll College 58-54, scoring 12 points in 35 minutes. She also had five rebounds, five assists and a pair of steals.
On the weekend, King averaged 20.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, two steals and one block.
