Montana Western’s Brianna King earns 3rd consecutive weekly honor

WHITEFISH — For the third time in as many weeks and fourth time this season, Montana Western guard Brianna King has been named the Frontier Conference player of the week. The league announced the news on Monday.

King, the 5-foot-5 senior from Spokane, Wash., guided the Bulldogs to a conference road split, defeating MSU-Northern 64-30. She scored 27 points, corralled six rebounds and had two assists and a steal during the win in Armory Gymnasium in Havre. King knocked down five 3-point field goals against the Skylights.

Western was upset by No. 13 University of Providence on Saturday, but King had 20 points, two rebounds, one assist and a block in the 61-50 defeat.

King averaged 23.5 points, four rebounds and 1.5 steals in the two games, hitting nine 3-pointers and 18 total field goals. She also made 2 of 3 free throws.

King and Western return to Dillon for conference home games against No. 22 Rocky and No. 8 Carroll College on Thursday and Saturday, respectively.
