DILLON – The Montana Western Bulldogs men’s and women’s basketball teams hosted the Lewis-Clark State Warriors in a doubleheader at Straugh Gymnasium on Saturday.

In the first game, the Western women built a double-digit lead by the second quarter and never looked back. Brianna King led the way in scoring with 17 points and racked up five assists. Britt Cooper chipped in 15 points and seven rebounds. Despite shooting 39 percent from the field and 23 percent from 3-point range, the Bulldogs’ transition game proved to be too much for L-C State to handle. Montana Western went on to win 60-47.

For the Bulldog men, it was a different story. Western went into halftime down 42-31 to the Warriors. As the Bulldogs started to build momentum, L-C State seemed to always have an answer. Kooper Kidgell led the way for the Bulldogs with 18 points and Cedric Boone scored 12 in the Bulldogs’ 83-62 loss.

Western is in action on Tuesday at Montana Tech in a Frontier Conference game.
