ASHLAND, Ore. — Rey Vega scored three touchdowns as Southern Oregon finished the Frontier Conference football season with a dominant 37-10 win over Montana Western on Saturday.

Vega scored two first-quarter touchdowns as SOU jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead. It was 17-0 before Western got on the scoreboard on a 7-yard touchdown pass from Jon June to Nate Simkins. SOU answered right back, though, with Wyatt Hutchinson hitting Jason Shelley for a 74-yard score.

The teams would trade field goals and go into the halftime break with Southern Oregon leading 27-10. Vega added his third touchdown in the third quarter and another field goal in the fourth iced the game.

Western was able to muster only 68 rushing yards in the loss, compared to 208 for Southern Oregon.

Both teams finish with 6-4 records in the Frontier Conference, one game back of first-place Rocky. The Bulldogs finished the season losing their final three games.
